This is a great lounging sofa if you know what I mean! It ’s the famous + Edra Boa and the design is based on the Boa snake. I like the model better though.

Softly woven, it resembles a large nest that also holds many people - lying down, sitting or curled up - who can also crawl inside the weave to feel even more protected. With no frame it consists of 90 meters (100 yards) of tubular velvet with flexible and breathable polyurethane chips, knotted with extreme manual expertise to form a large irregular weave!

Here is a great design by Hella Jongerius for Vitra, it was inspired by the artificial land reclaimed from the sea in Holland. It is called + Polder which refers to the artificial land reclaimed from the sea by means of dykes and drainage canals. The body of the Polder sofa is just as low-lying, just as flat, and has just as much emphasis on the horizontal as does the Dutch landscape.

For it, Hella Jongerius chose five carefully selected combinations of colors and fabric qualities, accentuating them with high-tech threads and large buttons.

This is an interesting piece of furniture made out of polyester construction! I can assure you this is definitively not a shoe insert! It is a sofa and his name is Chester and it comes from Future Systems.

Carpet is the way to go, be interesting to see how comfortable it is. But then again carpet??? Olivier Gregoire created this amazing semi-formless piece of furniture called + Tapisofa that can be a couch, chair, lounge or whatever else you can think up…as long as it’s in a corner. It’s actually “a carpet with an unpredictable natural shape” and it “can be modulated thanks to it’s soft frame.” Brilliant. Unfortunately it’s only a concept at this stage.

This furniture is located and made for a new space: the corner. This carpet with an unpredictable but natural shape will create a new place to sit. It can be modulated thanks to it’s soft frame…
