Noguchi Table.

This a iconic 1948 design by Isamu Noguchi. Following his apprenticeship with the legendary Constantin Brancusi, sculptor Isamu Noguchi began to experiment in environmental design, theatrical sets and later, product design. Noguchi created his first furniture prototypes for Herman Miller in 1942 and went on to work with companies such as Steuben and Zenith.

Practical and beautiful, the Noguchi Table will uphold a variety of objects in a professional reception area or the home. Simple assembly required.

It is availabele with either a Solid Walnut or Solid Cherry base (with natural cherry finish) or solid wood with black lacquer finish. The clear glass top is .75″ (20mm) thick.

Swag Leg Desk.

The reintroduction of George Nelson’s Swag Leg Desk (1958) was driven by today’s propensity for working on laptop computers. With the exception of adding cable management to suit today’s compact electronics, the desk is as George Nelson designed it 50 years ago. Back then, the motivation to create such a desk began with Nelson asking “wouldn’t it be beautiful to have some kind of sculptured leg on a piece of furniture?”

An idea was launched, but the designer had to figure out how to make the legs of metal, machine formed and pre-finished - and all designed for quick assembly. The solution turned out to be swagging, which means using pressure to taper and curve a metal tube. Nelson had found a way to make his sculptured legs, and in the process he created a precursor to today’s workstation.

The Swag Leg Desk’s brightly colored dividers create convenient storage cubbies with the center cubby large enough for most laptops. Cable management is handled through a grommet in the back, right-hand corner. Easy to clean, the desk has a laminate writing surface, removable organizer trays in the drawers and the legs feature adjustable glides for a level work surface. As with the original, the Swag Leg Desk comes ready to assemble to make shipping easy and economical.

Egg Chair.

This is one of my favorite chairs, it the Egg Chair an all time classic by Arne Jacobsen, which still looks as contemporary as when it was first designed some 50 years ago! As you can see my favorite color is the red one.

What is so unique about the + Egg Chair is that you can swivel it around to have an conversation facing the person, or just turn it away from other if you want privacy! It has a tilt system for relaxed lounging and the high back and curving elements are reminiscent of a traditional wing chair. Together they cocoon the sitter in a single-piece molded shell that appears to hover over the floor. Almost 50 years after its design, the Egg Chair is still used in advertising, film and television as a symbol of sophisticated urbanism. The wool version comes in black, chartreuse and red and is US$5398, or if you prefer the black leather one, that will set you back a cool US$10,680.

Eames Walnut Stool.

These + Eames Walnut Stools are classics, designed back in 1960 by the Eames team, crafted and made out of solid walnut by Herman Miller. I really do love these as walnut is such a beautiful timber that is becoming rarer by the day!

Ray Eames drew on her training as a sculptor to design a new kind of occasional piece for the lobby of the Time-Life Building in New York City. Eames walnut stools became her favorite seats and were liberally scattered about the Charles and Ray Eames home in Pacific Palisades. Made of solid walnut, these stools can be used anywhere and are beautifully versatile. Besides being places to sit, they also serve as low tables, display surfaces, or simply objects of art to be admired.

The + Eames Walnut Stools are solid walnut and the center section of the stool comes in three distinctively sculpted profiles. The top surface and the smaller bottom surface are both concave.
